Goalie Shutout Wall Added to Minnesota Hockey Website
Minnesota Hockey is recognizing the outstanding play of youth hockey goalies with a new shutout wall on the goalie section on the Minnesota Hockey website at www.minnesotahockey.org.
“This is an excellent opportunity to showcase the outstanding play of goalies in our state,” explained Steve Carroll, USA Hockey’s Minnesota District goalie coach-in-chief.
To have a shutout added to this wall, coaches/team managers should submit the date shutout was earned along with goalie’s name, team, level of play, final score, opponent and send information to scarroll@minnesotahockey,org.
Zero Award available
USA Hockey and Minnesota Hockey also offers a Zero Award patch to goalies playing a complete game without allowing a goal. Shutout must be earned in a league, sanctioned tournament or Minnesota Hockey playoff game.
Information must be submitted by team coach or manager. They should batch requests and submit 2 to 3 requests per season, not every time a shutout is earned.
To order a Zero Award, visit www.minnesotahockey.org, click on the general button, look for the forms page and then look for the USA Hockey Awards Request Form.
